Lucky Number 13: #1 WBB Extends Their Winning Streak with Win Over College of DuPage
Box Score #1 RVC Women's Basketball has been on a tear in 2017. After earning the #1 ranking in NJCAA DIII Women's Basketball on Tuesday, the Golden Eagles took care of their business on Wednesday with a 60-51 win over College of DuPage. RVC, winners of 13 straight games, improved to 23-3 overall and a perfect 10-0 in N4C play.
"We did not play up to our potential tonight, but we did some good things," stated Head Women's Basketball Coach
Misty Opat. "Although we struggled to make shots, we did get 18 assists on our 22 made field goals. I like the way we shared the basketball. We also won the battle of the boards, and had some stretches where our defense was really strong. We need to continue to work as the regular season ends and tournament play approaches."
Sophomore
Tierra McGowan (Chicago, IL) had a monster evening for #1 RVC. The 6'4" center recorded her ninth double-double in ten conference games with 34 points and 16 rebounds.
Jaycee Cleaver (Dakota, IL) added 14 points and 6 rebounds.
