Box Score #7 Rock Valley College Men's Basketball relied on their half court defense to help get the job done against College of DuPage. The Golden Eagles outscored the visiting Chaparrals 47-28 in the second half to drive a 81-50 home victory. RVC moves to 20-7 (8-3 in N4C) on the season.

Despite a sluggish start, the Golden Eagles settled in and took control of the the last 10 minutes of the first half to gain a 34-22 advantage to enter the break. RVC put the pedal to the metal in the second half, getting up by as much as 37 in the contest. RVC's defense forced College of DuPage into a frigid 18-57 (31.6%) performance from the field, and 0-9 from behind the arc.

"Our defensive effort was good all night long," stated Head Men's Basketball Coach Evan Lavery. "We did not do our job at College of DuPage the first time we played them. We wanted to make a conscious effort to make them work for every basket they got. For the most part, we did that. In the last 30 minutes of the game, we resembled a college basketball program on the offensive end of the floor, hit some shots, and that fueled us even more defensively."

The Golden Eagles were led by Alec Pena (14 points, 7 rebounds), Jace Kitchen (14 points, 5 rebounds), and DeMari Davis (13 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks).
