W-Basketball: NJCAA DII Wilbur Wright College No Match for #2 RVC
Box Score #2 RVC Women's Basketball sent sophomores
Tierra McGowan,
Jaycee Cleaver, Chriseesha Clark,
Breeanda Howell, and
Jade Barber out in style with a 88-15 win over NJCAA DII Wilbur Wright College. The Golden Eagles are now 22-3 overall and 9-0 in conference play.
RVC jumped out of the gates strong, commanding a 19-2 advantage after the first quarter. The Golden Eagles never looked back. RVC controlled the glass 63-24, and held the visiting Rams to 5-51 shooting (9.8%).
"Sophomore Day is always bittersweet," stated Head Women's Basketball Coach
Misty Opat. "These young ladies come in, work hard, get better, and before you know it, they are on to the next level. I am glad we could honor them and send them out in style with a sizeable victory."
Four Golden Eagles reached double figures scoring. McGowan contributed game highs of 18 points and 20 rebounds. Clark added 14 points, while
Emily Cox and Cleaver added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
