Box Score In a battle of two nationally ranked opponents, #15 NJCAA DII Kankakee Community won 58-55 over #8 NJCAA DIII Rock Valley College. The Golden Eagles fall to 4-9 overall with 2 games remaining before semester break.

The match-up was close throughout. Despite missing leading scorer Madi Hecox (injury), the Golden Eagles only trailed by 7 points heading into the halftime. RVC clawed closer in the third quarter by cutting the Lady Cavalier lead to 3 points. The Golden Eagles had a shot to tie that just missed in the game's final seconds. After 2 missed free throws and a quick timeout, the Golden Eagles had another chance to tie the game. The ensuing possess led to a shot that fell just short, and Kankakee escaping with a home win.

"We were right there again," said Misty Opat, Head Women's Basketball Coach. "The one thing I will say about this group is that we will be battle tested come N4C and Region IV Tournament time. We have some players that will hopefully heal up over break, and allow us to then use our entire unit come second semester. We just need to keep fighting."

The Golden Eagles were paced by 3 players in double figures, led by Jessie Schiro's 14 points. Hayley Sorenson and Emily Cox added 12 points and 10 points, respectively.
