W-Soccer: #3 RVC and College of DuPage Finish Knotted at 0

In a pivotal N4C match up, #3 RVC Women's Soccer and College of DuPage finished in a 0-0 tie after 110 minutes of soccer.

"We played a very tough and well organized soccer team tonight," said Carrie Barker. "We learn from each match and now we need to recover and prepare for the next one."

The match featured similar stats in total shots (RVC with 8, COD with 10), total corner kicks RVC with 3, COD with 3), and total goalkeeper saves (RVC with 11, COD with 9). It is the first time this season the Golden Eagles have failed to score in a match. RVC recorded its sixth shutout in nine matches.

"DuPage definitely tested us tonight," stated captain Sharlee Hofbauer. "As a team, we gave everything we had. Hopefully, this match shows us areas we need to focus on moving forward so we can play our best soccer come region tournament time."

Rock Valley (8-0-1) will visit Glen Ellyn, IL to take on DuPage (6-3-2) on October 14th in the last regular season game of the season.

The Golden Eagles host Joliet Junior College for their sixth consecutive home match on Friday, September 23rd. In their first match up this season on August 31st, RVC traveled to Joliet and came away victorious 4-0. Match time is set for 4 PM in Rockford.
