W-Soccer: Golden Eagles Too Much for Illinois Valley CC
After nearly 23 minutes of a defensive battle, the Golden Eagles (2-0) netted their first goal of the afternoon over Illinois Valley Community College (Oglesby, IL). RVC opened the flood gates from there, winning in convincing fashion 8-1.
"Early in the match, we made some good plays but we just could not finish the goal," said Head Women's Soccer Coach
Carrie Barker. "Our girls stayed after it, though. We continued to move the ball well, and we were rewarded with some quality goals."
The match featured 5 different Golden Eagles scoring goals, led by
Kenzie Theien with 3.
Brianna Perez scored 2 goals, while
Anne Harris,
Carolina Elizondo, and Celilia Magana each scored 1.
