#1 RVC defeats Harper 30-0 in 5 Innings
The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead on Harper College and captured a 30-0 victory on Saturday at Rosemont Dome.
The game was decided quickly as the Golden Eagles exerted their will early with 21 runs in the first three innings.
A two-run double by Dakota Watson, a two-run single by Kendalynn Rockey, a passed ball, an RBI single by Eden Meier, a two-run home run by Kristi Ebbers, a two-run double by Olivia Fluehr, and an RBI single by Watson in the first inning and an RBI single by Jessica Turner, an RBI single by Hannah Long, a wild pitch, and a bases loaded walk by Kelsey Hughes during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Golden Eagles.Ebbers racked up five RBIs on four hits for the Golden Eagles.
Morgan Adolph racked up 11 strikeouts in the the Golden Eagles win. The Golden Eagles' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.
The Golden Eagles easily handled Harper College pitching as nine hitters combined for 28 hits, 28 RBIs and 30 runs scored.
Jordan Dallman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed nine runs in two innings, walked one and struck out two.
The Golden Eagles tacked on another seven runs in the third. Fluehr tripled, scoring Jillian Reich and Ebbers to start the inning. That was followed up by Long's single, scoring Fluehr.
The Golden Eagles added six more runs in the top of the fourth. A double by Long ignited the offense,, bringing home Jessica Turner and Abby Kissack.
The Golden Eagles increased their lead with three runs in the fifth. The inning looked promising, as Rockey tripled, plating Long and Watson to kick things off.
RVC is now 4-1 on the season.
