Brianna Davis and
Creighton Fed each scored 18 points for RVC (18-7, 7-2 N4C).
Auri Hampton scored 11 points while
Tierra McGowan just missed a double-double scoring 9 points to go along with a game-high 11 rebounds. Rachel Slaney scored a game-high 27 points for Madison (23-1, 7-1 N4C).
"We didn't play very well and we still had our chances," head coach
Misty Opat said. "We need to limit our mistakes, specifically our turnovers. Our half-court defense has been solid all year but live ball turnovers allowed our opponent to score in transition and put us tough situations. We have a big week coming up hosting Joliet and playing at Triton. We expect our ladies to have a solid week of practice in preparation for those games."
Rock Valley out-rebounded Madison 42-38 while RVC turned the ball over 19 times compared to 14 for Madison.
On Wednesday the Golden Eagles will host Joliet Junior College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM on the campus of Rock Valley College.
