LT Davis continues to add to his impressive resume. The 2014 MVP of the NJCAA D3 National Tournament and National Champion scored a game-high 26 points on Saturday which pushes his point total over 1,000 in his RVC career.  In doing so, Davis helped lead the Golden Eagles (24-2, 8-2 N4C) to a 69-47 road win over Madison College

Elijah Williams (Chicago, IL) joined Davis in double figures with 12 points to go along with a game-high 8 rebounds. Kooper Glick (Columbus, IN) added 9 points for the Golden Eagles.

Davis, a Rockford Jefferson high school graduate, joins former RVC and Jefferson teammate Jared Mayes (2013-2015) as the only players in the Craig Doty-era to score 1,000 career points. Mayes scored 1,148 in his career; Davis currently has 1,021 points with four regular season contests remaining as well as the post-season which can range from one to six games in a do-or-die format. Davis and Mayes are the only players in Rock Valley College history to score 1,000 points and win a national championship. Roosevelt Watkins (1974-1976) holds the career scoring record at Rock Valley College with 1,231 points. Davis would need to score 211 points to break this record.

"What's not to love about LT Davis?" head coach Craig Doty asked. "He is an every day guy, he is a great teammate, he is humble, he is loyal, and he is one of the best players to ever play at Rock Valley College. What most people don't understand is that LT continues to work near full-time weekly hours as a shift manager at Culver's restaurant. He is either at school, involved in basketball activities with RVC, doing his homework, or working. I don't think he sleeps. He is an amazing kid. We absolutely love LT and when this year is done, we will miss him dearly."

Over the past five games Davis has scored 23, 23, 28, 24 and 26 points, respectively. Over that span he has shot 42-74 (.568) from the field including a sizzling 24-44 (.545) from behind the arch while averaging 24.8 points per game in just over 29 minutes of action per game.  On the season Davis is averaging 18.4 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game while shooting 44.8% from the field and 41.6% from behind the three-point line.  With Davis in uniform for RVC, the Golden Eagles are 54-7 (.885) overall as of February 8th, 2016.

The Golden Eagles are back in action on Wednesday at home against Joliet Junior College (19-7, 7-3 N4C).  Joliet handed Rock Valley their first loss of the season on January 16th in Joliet with the final score being 70-66. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM. The women start the double-header with a 5:30 PM tip.
