W-Basketball: Golden Eagles defense continues to dominate, RVC knocks off Joliet
Box Score The Rock Valley College women's basketball team defeated conference rival Joliet Junior College on Wednesday behind their stingy defense. RVC held Joliet to a chilly 27.1% from the field including 10.5% from behind the arch leading to a 62-48 victory.

The Golden Eagles were led by sophomore
Brianna Davis who scored a game-high 19 points (8-14 FG). Freshman guard
Jaycee Cleaver had a good all around floor game for Rock Valley posting 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
"We played a really good first quarter," head coach
Misty Opat stated as RVC took control of the game early with a 16-6 first quarter lead. "We are still looking to piece together 40 minutes of action. We have a lot of nice players who are can contribute at a high level. We are still searching for the consistency we know is needed to make a run come tournament time."
Rock Valley, who is rated #5 in the country in NJCAA D3, improves to 19-7 (8-2 N4C). Joliet falls to 13-11 (4-5 N4C).
The Golden Eagles are back in action on Saturday as they travel to River Grove, Illinois to play a 1:00 PM contest vs. Triton College.
