W-Basketball: Golden Eagles win 5th straight, improve to 17-6 with win over Harper College

Box Score The Rock Valley College women's basketball team played in front of a packed house on Saturday as part of the "Rumble in the Rock" event. The Golden Eagles would not disappoint, building a 12-4 first quarter lead en route to a 71-41 victory over visiting Harper College.

Brianna Davis (13), Paige Wogen (11) and Jaycee Cleaver (10) would all score in double-figures for Rock Valley as the Golden Eagles improve to 17-6 (6-1 N4C).

"It was an awesome day for Rock Valley athletics and for the community of Rockford," head coach and athletic director Misty Opat said. "With attendance over 3,200 on the day, this was a win for everyone. Our ladies embraced the opportunity to play in front of thousands of fans and really played well. I am proud of their performance."

The Golden Eagles dominated on the glass against Harper (4-18, 0-7 N4C), outrebounding the Hawks 50-22.  Taja Sloss, Tierra McGowan and Cleaver led the way in individual rebounds with 9, 8 and 7, respectively.

RVC is back in action on Wednesday vs. Milwaukee Tech. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 PM on the campus of Rock Valley College.
