Box Score #3 RVC Women's Basketball took care of business Thursday night against NJCAA DII Waubonsee Community College, pulling off a 71-51 victory. The Golden Eagles are now 10-2 on the season with one game remaining before the holiday break.

Once again, RVC jumped out of the gates strong, taking a 17-10 lead after the first quarter and a 36-22 lead into halftime. The Chiefs chipped away at the lead, but were never able to get the Golden Eagles on the ropes. RVC's defense held Waubonsee to 35.1% FG (20-57) and 20% 3 PT (2-10). The depth and defensive effort was able to wear down the visiting Chiefs.

"We are playing some good basketball right now," stated Head Women's Basketball Coach Misty Opat. "We have came a long ways from Game 1 to Game 12, but we still have a lot of work to do. I liked our defensive effort. I liked how we shared the basketball (15 assists). We have a very quick turnaround as we play an always tough Illinois Central squad on Monday."

The Golden Eagles were led by Chriseesha Clark's 23 points. Tierra McGowan netted yet another double-double, scoring 20 points and ripping down 12 rebounds. Jaycee Cleaver rounded out RVC players in double-figure scoring with 15.
