Box Score #9 RVC Men's Basketball put six players in double-figure scoring in a 92-79 win over NJCAA DII Waubonsee Community College. The Golden Eagles enter the Christmas Break with a record of 11-4 overall. RVC will play one more non-conference game before starting N4C play.

After a back and forth first half, Rock Valley found themselves up 46-42. The Golden Eagles came out of halftime in attack mode, quickly getting a double-digit lead on the visiting Chiefs. RVC was able to expand the lead to as much as 20 before Waubonsee went on a 8-0 run. Waubonsee got no closer than 12 points as timely Golden Eagle baskets and solid free throw shooting (18-21 for 85.7%) were able to hold the Chiefs off.

"It is great to enter Christmas Break on a win," stated Head Men's Basketball Coach Evan Lavery. "The last thing I wanted for our guys was to have 10 days off with a sour taste in their mouths. We had 24 assists on 31 field goals. We made our free throws. We shot a strong percentage from the field. In contrast, we were not disciplined in our attention to detail as far as scout-specific things go. We need to get better with that, amongst other areas, if we want to take another step forward."

The Golden Eagles were led by 18 points and 7 rebounds from Alec Pena. Freshman Malique Ross had 18 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds. Dalton Menke added 16 points, while Jace Kitchen netted 14 points. Garrett Schweighauser contributed 12 points, and Elijah Pappas scored 10 for the Golden Eagles, who won their fifth straight.
