Rock Valley Picks Up Big Road Win at Kennedy King
Rock Valley traveled to Chicago on Tuesday for a match up against NJCAA DI opponent Kennedy King College… The Golden Eagles found themselves in a back and forth battle for much of the first half before Garrett Schweighauser (Roscoe, IL) scored a layup with 2 seconds left in the first half to put them up by 4 heading into halftime… Kennedy King came out strong in the second half getting up on the Golden Eagles by 8 points, the largest lead of the game for either side, with just 8 minutes left in the game… RVC continued to fight back however, forcing overtime at a 70-70 tie… In overtime, Rock Valley got up by 8 points quickly, and were able to hold the lead to seal their fourth straight victory 83-79…Sophomore Alec Pena (Rockton, IL) had a big night finishing with 27 points and 8 rebounds… Jace Kitchen (DeKalb, IL) came off the bench to finish with 23 points, hitting 5 shots from behind the arc…Adding 5 triples of his own was Dalton Menke (Winnebago, IL), who finished with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Rock Valley is an NJCAA Division III member of the North Central Community College Conference (N4C)… RVC Men's Basketball checked in at #9 nationally in the NJCAA DIII poll released on December 12th… Rock Valley, with a record of 10-4, will host Waubonsee Community College, Thursday night to close out the fall semester… In last year's match-up in Sugar Grove, IL, the Golden Eagles were able to pull out a 72-60 win... RVC was led by 15 points a piece from Kooper Glick and 2016 NJCAA DIII National Player of the Year, LT Davis...
