RVC women's basketball knocks off Malcolm X in Chicago

The Rock Valley College women's basketball program traveled to Chicago on Saturday to play NJCAA D1 opponent Malcolm X College. The Golden Eagles defeated the Hawks by a score of 79-52.
With the win, RVC, who is ranked #4 in NJCAA D3, improves to 11-5 on the season. Malcolm X falls to 5-10 on the year.
Brianna Davis scored a game-high 29 points shooting a sizzling 12-19 (.632) from the field.
Asia Jones filled up the box score with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 steals.
Jaycee Cleaver scored 11 points (3-5 3PT) while
Tierra McGowan rounded out double figure scoring with 10 points.
"It's nice to get a road win in our first game back from Christmas break," head coach
Misty Opat stated. "With conference season starting on Wednesday we wanted to have some momentum coming in."
The Golden Eagles travel to Palatine, IL on Wednesday to play Harper College in the first N4C contest of the season. The women tip off at 5:00 pm while the men play the second game of the double-header at 7:00 pm.
