Women's Basketball: RVC falls to Milwaukee in tough road environment

The Rock Valley College women's basketball team fell to Milwaukee Area Technical College on Saturday by a score of 82-67.

The loss bumps the defending national champions to 12-6 (1-1 N4C) on the season while Milwaukee improves to 10-7 (2-0 N4C) which includes a 7-1 record at home.

Brianna Davis (Rockford Auburn) led the Golden Eagles with 18 points.  Jaycee Cleaver (Dakota) scored 17 points including a 5-10 performance from behind the arc. Creighton Fed (Dundee Crown) scored 13 points.

RVC got out to a fast start building a 22-12 lead to finish the first quarter in one of the most exciting first halves of the season.  However, the Golden Eagles finished the game shooting a chilly 35.3% (24-68) from the field.  Milwaukee Tech shot 42 free throws compared to just 13 shot by the Golden Eagles.  RVC shared the ball incredibly well finishing with 19 assists led by Katreelah Steward (Chicago) with a game-high 8 assists.

The Golden Eagles, who are ranked #4 in NJCAA D3, are back in action on Wednesday at home vs. the #2 ranked NJCAA D3 team Madison College.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM on the campus of Rock Valley College.
