Women's Soccer: Golden Eagles take down Wolfpack on the road
The Rock Valley College women's soccer program improved their conference record to 6-1 on the season on Wednesday with a road victory over Madison College, 5-0.
The Golden Eagles, who previously defeated the Wolfpack 4-0 at home earlier this season, received two goals from sophomore phenom
Sadey Jumapao as well as a goal each from
Aryanna Gelafio,
Stephani McBride and
Nicole Fauerbach in the win.
Brenda Estrada earned two assists while
Erin DiSanti and McBride each added one assist.
"It's great to score five goals on the road," Head Coach
Carrie Barker stated. "This is our 5th away match of the season. Playing conditions were tough today but our girls battled through it. I thought we played very well on both ends of the field."
The Golden Eagles are now 6-2 overall in the season while Madison College drops to 4-4-1 (2-3-1 N4C) on the year. RVC has outscored conference opponents 28-3 on the season and 5 of their 6 conference wins have been shutouts.
Rock Valley returns to action next Wednesday as they continue their road stretch and play at Harper College (Palatine, Illinois). Game time is set for 4:00 PM. In their first meeting of the season the Golden Eagles defeated the Hawks at RVC by a score of 2-1.
