Down 0-2, the Golden Eagles rally to win 3 straight sets

The Rock Valley College volleyball team earned a 3-2 victory on the road at NJCAA D2 member McHenry County College on Tuesday.

Despite being down 0-2 (15-25, 17-25) the Golden Eagles gained momentum in the 3rd set winning 25-19.  In the fourth, RVC won 25-23 before securing the comeback victory in the fifth set 15-12.

"Credit to McHenry as they have a really good team," Head Coach Alyssa Tomei said. "This game showed a lot about our girls.  Their conditioning is great and their ability to fight through adversity and stay focused despite being down showed a high level of character.  I am a proud coach."

Makenzie Macek led the way for RVC with 19 kills while adding 17 digs.  Defensive specialist Kaylee Sommers had 18 digs.  Keifer Zimmerman had 9 kills and 14 digs while RVC setter Jaycee Cleaver had 45 assists in the win.

The Golden Eagles (2-1) play at home on Thursday vs. Sauk Valley Community College.  Game time is 6:00 PM.
