#1 Rock Valley College men win at home in overtime to stay undefeated

Box Score The Rock Valley College men's basketball team saw their 16 point halftime lead dwindle down to nothing in regulation against Mid Michigan at home on Sunday afternoon forcing overtime.  RVC who scored 42 points in the opening half, was held to only 20 points in the second half.  However, LT Davis hit two overtime three's and the Golden Eagles fought back from a 6-point overtime deficit scoring 15 points to MMCC's 10 points in the extra session to win the game by a score of 77-72.

LT Davis (Rockford, Illinois) led the way for RVC with 22 points.  Kooper Glick (Columbus, Indiana), who scored 15 points in the opening half, scored 21 on the game.

"We need to play better in the second half of basketball games," head coach Craig Doty said. "Rebounding won us the game again as we were able to haul in 26 offensive rebounds tonight."

RVC shot a chilly 37.5% from the field on the night though caught fire in overtime hitting 4-7 FG (57.1%) which included 3-4 3PT (75%). The Golden Eagles won the battle of the boards 49-39.

Rock Valley improves to 15-0 on the season while Mid Michigan falls to 3-8.

The Golden Eagles play one more game before Christmas break as they head to Sugar Grove, Illinois to play Waubonsee on Thursday in a women's/men's double-header.  The women tip off at 5:00 PM while the men's game is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
