The Rock Valley College women's basketball team, who is ranked #4 in NJCAA D3, lost on Saturday to #13 ranked NJCAA D1 State Fair Community College (MO) 72-54.

Brianna Davis was the lone Golden Eagle scoring in double-figures posting 20 points on 7-12 from the field.

"We took a positive step as a team this weekend growing up and competing against two tough D1 programs in Moberly and nationally ranked State Fair," head coach Misty Opat stated. "We will continue to get better and move forward."

RVC, who has won three of the last four NJCAA D3 National Championships, have went to the Moberly tournament each of the past four seasons.

"For us it is about playing the best. When we get the opportunity to play against fully-funded NJCAA D1 programs, it allows our student-athletes to get refocused so we can appropriately prepare for the upcoming conference season," Opat concluded.

The Golden Eagles (4-2) are back in action on Tuesday at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, IL. The women tip-off at 5:15 PM against the Scots who also boast a 4-2 record.
