Game Preview: W-Basketball puts 2-0 record to the test vs. D1 Highland CC at home Tuesday
The
Misty Opat led Golden Eagles women's basketball program will put their perfect 2-0 record to the test on Tuesday evening vs. NJCAA D1 opponent Highland Community College. RVC has defeated Black Hawk College (55-51) and Kishwaukee College (49-37) this season.
The Golden Eagles, who are currently ranked #4 in the NJCAA DIII national poll, are led by sophomore guard
Brianna Davis (Auburn) who is averaging 14.5 points per game. Freshman post
Tierra McGowan is averaging 8.5 points per game and 12.0 rebounds per game which currently ranks 13th overall in NJCAA DIII.
Highland comes into the game 2-0 as well with victories over Daley College and Malcolm X. Head Coach of Highland is Rock Valley College alum Erin Butler, who played at RVC in the late 2000's.
Tip-off is set for 5:30 on Tuesday on the campus of Rock Valley College in the Physical Education Center.
