Box Score The women's basketball team received their national championship rings on Tuesday evening but there was work to be done before that took place.  The Golden Eagles hosted Black Hawk College (Moline, IL) and took care of business winning 55-51 before a large home crowd in the Physical Education Center on the campus of Rock Valley College.

Leading the Golden Eagles was Tierra McGowan with 14 points and 22 rebounds.  Asia Jones added 11 points and 5 rebounds.  Jaycee Cleaver filled up the box score with 5 points, 6 rebounds and a team-high 3 assists.

"It was a great night for Rock Valley College athletics," head coach Misty Opat stated. "We want to thank the large crowd for coming out to the game and the Booster Club for purchasing our national championship rings.  Another banner hangs in our rafters but we are still not satisfied.  We look forward to having another great season with our young, but very talented, group of girls."

The Golden Eagles (1-0) host rival Kishwaukee College on Thursday with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 PM.
