Box Score The defending Region IV champion Golden Eagles fell at Harper 5-0 in Region IV tournament action on Wednesday.  The loss ends the season for Rock Valley College who finish with a 9-6-2 record (5-4-2 N4C).

Harper got on the board early scoring 2 goals in the first half.  Within the first 5 minutes of the second half the Hawks tacked on another goal before finishing the game with two more.  RVC had several opportunities to score but had trouble finding the back of the net throughout the contest.

"I am very proud of the way our team played all season and the effort that each student-athlete gave," Head Coach Frank Horvat stated. "I am especially proud of my returning sophomores who will be moving on.  The leadership and direction they brought to this program in a short period of time is nothing short of incredible.  The program will definitely miss all of these tremendous individuals, myself included.  They hold a special place in my heart."

The Golden Eagles improved upon their 8-11-2 overall record of 2014 but just couldn't get the tournament momentum going that they did last season.  The men's soccer program was revitalized in 2014 after being dormant for many years.  Behind the direction of Horvat, the Golden Eagles have already been recognized as a top contender in the N4C and in this region of the country.  Men's soccer is among the most competitive sports in the league.

"It is time to take a few weeks off and then begin to start working for the 2016 season.  While we say goodbye to an incredible group of young men, we will be welcoming back many talented student-athletes who will help continue to lead our program to new heights," Horvat stated.
