Alyssa King is entering her fourth season leading the volleyball program at Rock Valley College. The 2016 Golden Eagles took 3rd in the always brutal N4C. Behing King's recruiting efforts, Rock Valley College Volleyball has added 12 new players as they enter the 2017 campaign.
King has had success in the college ranks at the helm of the Golden Eagles. In each of her first two seasons, King has led Rock Valley to second place finishes in the always challenging North Central Community College Conference (N4C). King has also produced four NJCAA All-Americans, with Makenzie Macek (2014, 2015), Amber Rizzio (2015), and most recently Jaycee Cleaver (2016).
In addition to her duties at Rock Valley, King is the program director for Club Fusion Volleyball, the largest and number one recruited volleyball club in the country. She is currently the head coach for the nationally ranked Club Fusion 14 Black and for Club Fusion Rockford 18 White. Her Fusion experience also includes assistant coaching duties for the 2013 national champion Club Fusion 17 Black team, and 2012 fifth place national finishers Club Fusion 18 Black.
King was an assistant coach for the Keith Country Day high school team that won the 1A state title in 2013 and served as head coach for the Keith Country Day middle school team that went undefeated in 2013. Prior to that, she also coached at DeKalb High School in 2012.
As a player, King started her college playing career at Middle Tennessee State University where, as a freshman in 2007, her team advanced to the Sweet 16 for NCAA Division I. She transferred to the University of Pittsburgh for her junior season in 2009 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sociology in 2011. While finishing her degree at the University of Pittsburgh, she also coached club volleyball for the Pittsburgh Magic in 2011.
King is originally from Rochelle, Illinois and currently resides in Rockford.
