Dominique Mays joined the Rock Valley College men's soccer program as an assistant coach in December 2022.
Mays is stepping into the role as an assistant coach after previous coaching experience at Toca Omaha and playing under head coach Tim Romanello at Dodge City Community College (Kan).
"Extremely exited to have Dominique join the staff," said head coach Tim Romanello. "Dom was a terrific player for me out in Kansas. He understands the game well, and as motivated as he is, that knowledge will translate to his role on the touchlines well. Glad to have him helping me."
The former defender graduated from Dodge City Community College with an Associate of Arts and Tabor College (Kan.) with a Bachelors in Business Administration. Mays played two seasons for Romanello where he was named All-Conference and All-Region as the captain of the 2012 squad, leading the Conquistadors to the program's first-ever trip to the region tournament semifinals.
"I'm looking forward to helping Coach build on his vision and success," said Mays. "There's a lot more he wants to accomplish. The expectations at Rock Valley are incredibly high throughout the department. The success is unmatched. The decision to join Coach and the RVC family was an easy one. "
Mays comes to Rock Valley from Omaha, Nebraska. He lives with his wife, Haley, and dog, Ash. Haley is a volunteer assistant coach for Rock Valley College's volleyball team.
