ROCKFORD, Ill. – Rock Valley College men's soccer followed its Region IV victory over Harper with another impressive offensive performance Saturday, scoring four times in the opening half on its way to a convincing victory over Bryant & Stratton College of Wisconsin.
Bryant & Stratton opened the match aggressively, but the Golden Eagles responded to the early pressure and quickly established control. RVC found the back of the net four times during the opening 45 minutes to take command of the contest.
Reese Schlichting once again led the Rock Valley attack, scoring twice in the first half before completing his hat trick after halftime. The three-goal performance marked Schlichting's second hat trick of the season.
The Golden Eagles also received goals from Aaron, Diego and Alan Perez as RVC continued to find production from throughout its lineup. The balanced attack helped Rock Valley build a six-goal advantage.
Bryant & Stratton converted a late penalty kick to get on the scoreboard, but RVC maintained its composure and closed out the match without allowing the late goal to change the direction of the contest.
The back-to-back performances against Harper and Bryant & Stratton provided another positive step for a Rock Valley team continuing to build toward postseason play. With contributions coming from both ends of the field, the Golden Eagles will look to continue raising their level in training as the Region IV Tournament approaches.
