The Golden Eagles season came to an end Monday afternoon in Huntsville, AL with a 3-4 loss to #11 seed Anne Arundel Community College in the Division 2 NJCAA National Tournament.
The Golden Eagles carried a 14 game unbeaten streak heading into the DII NJCAA National Tournament. Rock Valley would face the #2 Johnson County Community College in the first game of pool play. Johnson County a familiar foe to Rock Valley who ended the Golden Eagles season the previous year before would defeat Rock Valley in opening round play 0-3.
In game two the Golden Eagles would fight until the end against Anne Arundel before ultimately. Down 0-2 in the second half the Golden Eagles would come out striking with a pair of goals from Keyla Suarez and Emma Ambrose to tie the game in the 64th minute. The Riverhawks would quickly score 2 more goals of their own pushing their lead to back up to two goals before Annika Elgin would score one late goal for Rock Valley to bring the final score to 3-4.
Rock Valley Women's Soccer ends their season with a record of 17-3-1, giving Coach Watkins and the Golden Eagles a back to back 10-win season along back to back NJCAA DII National Tournament appearances.
