A look at the key talking points, team news and stats ahead of the Sunday Region 4 encounter 

Rock Valley and Bryant & Stratton will meet Sunday afternoon as the sides go head-to-head at Oconomowoc High School in a Region 4 match. 

Rock Valley are currently unbeaten after their opening two region matches of the 2023 season. Wins against Milwaukee and Kankakee followed a split opening weekend in St. Louis in which the men went 1-1 against nationally ranked sides St. Louis (W, 2-1) and St. Charles (L, 0-5). 

Tim Romanello's Golden Eagles held off Kankakee on Tuesday night at Kankakee River Field after leading 2-0 at the halftime break. Victor Ibarra's late strike in the 75th secured the 3-2 victory over the Cavaliers. 

The Bobcats enter Sunday unbeaten in their first four matches at 1-0-3. Following their 3-2 win in Kishwaukee, Bryant & Stratton drew DuPage 1-1 (Aug. 30) at Uihein Park in Milwaukee and McHenry County 1-1 (Sep. 1) in Crystal Lake. The Bobcats used an unassisted Christopher Barradas goal in the 78th minute to level the Scots on Friday. 

Last season, the two met for the first time in Rockford, Illinois. The Golden Eagles used three first half goals from Julio Davila, Joshua Ceniceros and Max Rebori in a 13-minute span in the eventual 4-0 win.

Sophomore transfer Taylor Sowell (Boylan Catholic) leads the team in goals (2), points (4) and is second in shots (6). 

Head coach Tim Romanello collected his 40th win at Rock Valley on Tuesday at Kankakee. Romanello sits one victory behind Frank Horvat as the program's winningest coach.
