The second half saw the Golden Eagles soar out to extend their lead a couple minutes into the start of the half. Monsavais adding her second of the game from a lovely weighted early ball from #2 Jasmin Rice (Carpentersville, IL). A minute later a good amount of possession and several switches of play allowed #5 Natalie Pacheco (St. Charles, IL) to hold up play and lay off a ball into the path of Garrelts for her second goal of the season. Joliet answered on a misplaced back pass that allowed Stephanie Tirrito to intercept and loft a ball into the back of the net. RVC responded back through a Pacheco banger from 30 yards assisted by #6 Liliveth Mendoza (Belvidere, IL). Mendoza scoring next from almost the same spot assisted by a Garrelts throw in. The final goal of the game coming from center back #24 Julia Theien (Rockford, IL) winning a 50/50 breaking the midfield line and finding Pacheco's feet. Pacheco then beat a player inside and finished expertly back across the goalkeeper.

Coach Watkins commented, "Joliet worked really hard the first half, we have to expect teams to try to man mark Natalie. Luckily, we have a handful of other players that can produce in front of goal and spread out some of the goals. We were able to slightly adjust Natalie's positioning in the second half with a tweak in our system of play that allowed her to pick up spaces between lines and get her teammates into dangerous positions."

Rock Valley College will take on region rivals Elgin College at home Saturday September, 17th at 12pm in Rockford, IL.
