Saturday August, 27th, The Golden Eagles (1-1) were able to come back from one goal deficit to lead 2-1 at the half against the Wolves. First half goals for RVC came from #5 Natalie Pacheco assisted by #6 Lily Mendoza. Lily was able to win a couple tackles in the midfield before splitting the backline and playing in Natalie. Natalie was composed and finished past the onrushing goalkeeper. The second goal came from a #24 Julia Theien diagonal ball putting freshman forward #13 Stefanie Monsivais into goal who slotted the ball past the goalkeeper. Joliet's goalkeepers had a few incredible saves keeping them within striking distance to start the second half.

Joliet started the second half strong looking to put the Rock Valley back line under pressure in possession. The third goal came as RVC was able to find #6 Lily Mendoza between lines. Mendoza was then able to find a streaking #11 Sofia Mclaughlin on the flank taking her first touch behind the defender and finding the back of the net behind an outstanding Joliet goalkeeper. The final goal coming from #5 Natalie Pacheco winning the ball high up the field beating a player inside and finding the top of the net from 25 yards.

Golden Eagles Freshman #6 Lily Mendoza has assisted 3 goals in the past two games. When asked about the start to her season Lily said, "It feels great to assist my team to a win."

Rock Valley will take on Harper College Wednesday August, 31st at home for a 2:00 PM kickoff.
