| Box Score 3 The men's basketball team capped off last week with back to back wins against College of Dupage on Thursday and Friday, after dropping a road game to #5 Joliet JC. On February 1st, the Golden Eagles traveled to Joliet, IL to take on the fifth ranked Wolves of Joliet JC. The first half was a back and forth game in the first half with the Wolves gaining a 3pt lead heading into the break. The second half was some of the same, with several lead changes and ties. Ultimately the Golden Eagles would fall short due to a 3min scoring drought over the final 3min of the game. Aleksa Markovic led the Golden Eagles with 19pts and 8rebs. Malik Marshall posted a double-double with 12pts and 10rebs.

On Thursday the Chaparrals of DuPage visited Rock Valley. The Chaparrals battled in the first half and the Golden Eagles held a slight 25-24 lead heading into the break. The Golden Eagles would bust it open in the second half and pull away with the 17pt victory. Chris Burnell had a well rounded game finishing with 15pts, 8rebs and 5asts. Nick Pierson tied the game high with 15pts of his own, Malik Marshall added 12pts and Aleksa Markovic was one rebound away from a double-double, 11pts and 9rebs.

The Golden Eagles then traveled to DuPage on Friday for a makeup game. This time around the Golden Eagles led from start to finish with little trouble. They jumped out to a 42-25 half time lead and would outscoure the Chaparrals by 7pts in the second half to take an 80-56 victory. Jackson Copley was a huge spark off the bench for RVC, he went 8-9 from the field and finished with 20pts. Aleksa Markovic finished with a double-double pouring in 18pts and pulling down 10rebs. Nick Pierson added 13pts and Chris Burnell 10pts.

The Golden Eagles are back in action this week with 3 games. Home vs Madison College on Tuesday, 7pm. Away at Harper College on Thursday, 7pm. Then for the final game of the week they host Rockford University JV at 5pm.
