Golden Eagles Fall at the Buzzer to Morton

The Golden Eagles lost a heartbreaker on Tuesday. RVC suffered its first loss of the season at the hands of the Morton Panthers. No team lead by more than eight points the entire forty minutes, there were 4 ties and 4 lead changes. The last lead change coming in the final seconds. With seven seconds on the clock the game was tied 66-66, Morton would have the last shot. JR Cison of Morton hit a fade away jumper as the buzzer sounded to defeat the Golden Eagles 68-66. 

The Golden Eagles were lead by Chris Burnell who finished with 22pts on 8-16 shooting, which was also a game high in points. Nick Pierson added 18pts and 11rbs, his first double double of the season. Freshman, Jackson Copley added 9pts for the Golden Eagles.

RVC is back in action this weekend in Marshalltown, IA. They will compete in the Emerson Classic at Marshalltown CC. They play Marshalltown CC on Friday at 7pm and Iowa Lakes CC at 1pm.
