Rock Valley Women's Soccer Rolls to Second Region Win.

Rock Valley College Women's Soccer (2-6) improved to (2-2) in Region play on the year with a win over Illinois Valley Community College 5-1. The Golden Eagles will take on Madison College at home on Saturday October 9
th at 3pm. Then they will travel to Harper College for the last regular season game on Wednesday 13
th with kickoff at 2pm.
The Golden Eagles broke the deadlock in the 30
th minute after
#24 Julia Theien slipped
#30 Noemi Garcia in to goal where she calmy finished her chance on goal. Illinois Valley was resolute in their defending as they held the Golden Eagles to only one goal in the first half despite 20 peppering the visiting goal with 20 shots.
RVC continued to produce chances through the second half as they registered 47 shots through the game. The next break-through came in the 65
th minute as play was switched through the back line and finding
#7 Abby Hawes on the right wing. Her cross field pass picked out
#19 Alexia Pena in the left channel who beat her defender and cut the ball back to
#10 Makayla Haight who found space on top of the box and finished with one touch into the far corner. Illinois Valley's
#11 Daisy Artega cut the lead in half off a free kick that found its way into the top corner.
#O Kayla Rowley able to get her fingertips to the ball but was unable to keep it out. A minute later
#20 Ingrid Sanchez was picked out by
#7 Abby Hawes was able to restore the two-goal advantage for the Golden Eagles. In the closing 10 minutes Rock Valley was able to add to the scoreline with
#3 Cansady Pascillas found the back of the net with a strike off the near post assisted by
#24 Julia Theien. The final goal coming from
#20 Ingrid Sanchez finding
#7 Abby Hawes with a diagonal run across the back line and finding the back of the net.

th minute through injury. She was replaced by
#24 Lillian Cavell who made 7 big saves in the final minutes of the game.
