After their 1-0 narrow victory with DuPage, Rock Valley College enter another Region IV showdown with Illinois Valley, as both sides are looking to position themselves for a playoff run.
 
Rock Valley was off midweek, but Illinois Valley impressed in two different matches this week following a 14-2 victory over Milwaukee on the road, then a 1-0 thriller versus Madison over the weekend.
 
Saturday's victory places Illinois Valley at the top of the Region IV standings on tie-breakers. Rock Valley currently sits fourth in the standings, but is just three points shy of the leaders (three-way tie between Illinois Valley, Harper and Madison) with two less games played.

IVCC's Maphumulo (26) and Cruz (16) are ranked first and third in goals in the NJCAA Division III for goals. Even more impressive, Maphumulo is ranked second in the country in assists (13), one behind teammate Philavanh, who leads all Division 3 players in assists (14).
 
Series History Rock Valley leads the all-time series meeting, 7-2-0, including 3-1-0 in Rockford. The lone loss game in 2019 on the second meeting between the two teams that year in a 2-1 score line played out at MercyHealth SportsCoreTwo due to weather.
 
Last Time Out the Golden Eagles needed a 79^th minute rocket from Roberto Davila to sneak past Division 2 opponent College of DuPage Saturday.
