M-Basketball: #9 RVC Races Past Harper
Box Score #9 Rock Valley College Men's Basketball picked up a 85-72 win at Harper College on Wednesday evening. The Golden Eagles won their 20th game for the 5th consecutive season, improving to 20-5 overall, and 5-4 in N4C play.
"We did not execute well early on," said Head Men's Basketball Coach
Evan Lavery. "After halftime, we came out with a different focus. We were able to speed Harper up on the defensive end, and turn that into offense. We shared the ball better and shot over 63% from the field in the second half. I am happy with how we played in spurts."
The Golden Eagles were able to stretch the lead to as much as 25 in the second half with 5:25 left in the game. RVC shot 36-71 from the field (50.7%) and 9-22 (40.9%) from behind the three-point arc. Sophomore
Elijah Pappas led the Golden Eagles in points (22), rebounds (9), and assists (4) for the game. Freshman
Rico Duncan recorded 15 points in his first career start.
DeMari Davis and
Darius Branch both recorded 12 points, respectively.
