In its conference home opener, Rock Valley College Men's Basketball improved to 2-0 in N4C play, and 14-4 overall, with a 113-83 win over Harper College. 113 points marks the season-high in total points for the Golden Eagles.

Despite a sluggish start, RVC managed to run out to a sizeable halftime lead, 60-37. RVC forced 14 Harper turnovers, and were able to turn them into transition buckets and free throw opportunities. After halftime, the second half featured the Golden Eagle fast break stretch the lead to over 30 points for a majority of the final 20 minutes. RVC shot a sizzling 39-73 (53.4%) from the field in the game. The Golden Eagles also held a 49-32 rebounding advantage over Harper.

"Many players got a lot of opportunity to get up and down tonight," said Head Men's Basketball Coach Evan Lavery. "Regardless of the score, we have to come out and do our job each possession. For a majority of the game, I think we did that. I like the way we were able to take rebounds and turnovers and turn them into advantageous transition opportunities. We need to continue to grow individually and as a group each day."

Six RVC players scored in double figures in the game. Alec Pena led the way with 17 points. Freshman Terrence Lakes put together his best game in a Golden Eagle uniform thus far, scoring 15 points, dishing out 5 assists, and hauling in 4 rebound. Sophomore Jace Kitchen (DeKalb, IL) also scored 15 points. DeMari Davis (13), Elijah Pappas (13), and Malique Ross (10) rounded out the double figure scorers.
