For nearly 87 minutes, neither Rock Valley College (2-0) or McHenry County College were able to find the back of the net. However, in the game's final minutes, Rock Valley College sophomore Ricky Rubio came to the rescue scoring the game's lone goal, giving the Golden Eagles a 1-0 victory on the road in Crystal Lake, IL.

"Nicholas Krahmer gave me a great pass," said Rubio referencing Krahmer's assist. "It was a good ball, and I was lucky enough to be able to make a play on it. It feels really good to start 2-0."

Rubio's goal marked his first for the 2016 campaign. Krahmer's assist was his 2nd of the year, which leads the team thus far.

"It was a great match back and forth. McHenry was all over us the first 8-10 minutes," stated Head Men's Soccer Coach Frank Horvat. "After that, we settled in, and both teams had plenty of scoring opportunites. Our guys deserved a lot of credit as McHenry has a really nice team. We stayed together all match long, and were able to get a second road win this week. I have been impressed with their character and resiliency so far this season. If we can continue to grow, we could have a really nice season."
