Men's Soccer: Golden Eagles stay hot, take down Madison at home
The Rock Valley College men's soccer team won their third game in a row on Wednesday at home defeating conference rival Madison College 2-1.
The Golden Eagles earned the come-from-behind victory after Madison College (5-4-2; 3-3-1 N4C) started the game with an early goal. However
David Rebollar and
Alexis Galvez would each score goals on assists from
Rodrigo Rubio. The Galvez goal came in the first overtime to secure the victory in the 110th minute of the game.
"Not the prettiest game to say the least," Head Coach
Frank Horvat echoed. "But the young men found a way to hang in there and pull out the big conference win. I am very proud of our student-athletes."
The Golden Eagles improve to 6-3-2 on the season (3-3-2 N4C). RVC has played very well on their home field this season and boast a 5-1-1 record on the Rock Valley College campus. RVC returns to action on Friday at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois for a 4:00 PM game. Harper is currently on top of the N4C conference standings with a 7-0-1 N4C record. The only blemish on their conference record came at the hands of RVC where the Golden Eagles and the Hawks played to a 2-2 tie on September 12th.
