The Rock Valley College men's soccer team played a non-conference home game on Wednesday vs. NJCAA D1 Carl Sandburg College (Galesburg, IL) and won by the score of 4-3.

The win moves the Golden Eagles to 4-3-2 on the season while Sandburg drops to 2-7 on the year.

RVC Head Coach Frank Horvat liked how his team played today. "We played very solid in the first half and for 35 minutes of the second half," Horvat said. "We still need to clean up some things in the back for defending purposes but overall that was a solid win over a D1 program."

Matt Ajvazi scored the first goal for RVC at the 18 minute mark on a free kick.  David Rebollar scored at the 24 minute mark with an assist by Omar Rivas.  RVC's third goal was scored by Alexis Galvez (unassisted) at the 25 minute mark.  The Golden Eagle's fourth goal came at the 43rd minute mark of the first half on a penalty kick taken and finished by Rodrigo Rubio.

The Golden Eagles return to conference action on Friday with a home contest vs. Triton College (River Grove, IL).  Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM on the campus of Rock Valley College.
