Men's Soccer: Rock Valley falls on the road at Triton
Rock Valley College lost it's first conference game of the season at Triton College on Wednesday, 4-2.
1:03 into the game the Trojans struck with the first goal of the game. RVC would get a shot on goal that would strike the crossbar at the 4:00 mark of the game which allowed Triton to stay on top 1-0. Both defenses held tough as the halftime score remained unchanged.
"We had so many chances to finish in the first half," head coach
Frank Horvat said. "This is a good early-season learning lesson for our guys."
Five minutes into the second half the Golden Eagles knotted the game 1-1 on a goal by
Matt Ajvazi, assisted by
Alexis Galvez. A few minutes later Triton would answer back with a goal to take a 2-1 lead. The visiting Golden Eagles would not go down without a fight as
David Rebollar scored an assisted goal from
Rodrigo Rubio to tie the game at 2.
However, Triton would end the game with two unanswered goals to walk away with the 4-2 victory.
"Now we have to rise up and take care of business in Madison on Friday," said Horvat.
RVC's (2-1) game on Friday in Madison is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
