RVC men's soccer picks up road win at Waubonsee
Rock Valley College moved to 2-0 on the season on Saturday beating Waubonsee Community College 3-1 in a matinee contest.
David Rebollar scored two goals for the Golden Eagles and
Matt Ajvazi scored one goal as the
Frank Horvat led program remains undefeated.
"This was a very solid performance from the whole team," Horvat said. "Everyone played, everyone contributed. I am very proud how our guys handled themselves throughout the contest."
The Golden Eagles got down 1-0 two minutes into the game but did not waver. At the 16 minute mark of the first half RVC knotted the game 1-1 behind a Rebollar goal assisted by
Tyler Hess. In the 88th minute of the game, Ajvazi chipped in an assisted goal from
Luis Ortega to take the lead 2-1. The following minute, RVC put the game away with another goal from Rebollar with the assist going toÂ
Luke Goodrich.
"This was a nice come from behind win for the team," said Horvat.
RVC kicks off their conference opener on the road at Triton College on Wednesday. Kick off is slated for 4:00 PM in River Grove, IL.
