M-Basketball: Golden Eagles prevail in the battle of undefeated teams, defeat McHenry by 28

Box Score The Rock Valley College men's basketball team stayed hot on Tuesday night defeating NJCAA D2 member and previously undefeated McHenry County College 88-60 in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

The Golden Eagles were led by Chicago product Elijah Williams with 24 points (8-10 FG, 8-8 FT) and 6 rebounds.  Winnebago high school graduate Dalton Menke scored 14 points (4-7 3PT) and also ripped down 6 rebounds.  Kooper Glick (Columbus, IN) scored 12 points.

RVC, who came in ranked #1 in the country for a second consecutive poll this season and 14th consecutive national poll dating back to 10-27-2014, improves to 11-0 on the season while McHenry falls to 5-1 on the year.

"We had great scoring balance again tonight," head coach Craig Doty stated. "We have played 11 regular season games this season and for an 11th time we won the rebounding battle. This typically results in a positive outcome."

The Golden Eagles host Ellsworth Community College (Iowa Falls, Iowa) on Friday.  The men play the back-end of the double-header with the women tipping off at 5:30 pm and the men scheduled to start at 7:30 pm.  Last season, RVC defeated ECC 96-88 in Iowa Falls behind Dalton Payton's 18 points. Ellsworth, an NJCAA D2 member, enters Friday's contest with an 8-2 record.
