Golden Eagles Head Off To The Next Level

The 2016-17 academic year for Rock Valley College Athletics was again a highly successful one. The Golden Eagles celebrated 2 NJCAA National Championships (Women's Basketball, Softball) and a cumulative record of 171-64-4 (.724) across its 7 sports. RVC Athletics is sending 28 student-athletes on to a 4-year institution to continue their schooling and athletic career in the 2017-18 academic year.

"In hindsight, this was another outstanding year for RVC Athletics," said Athletic Director/Head Women's Basketball Coach Misty Opat. "Two national championships were won. Two programs (Men's Basketball, Softball) were recognized as academic "Team of The Year." Our coaches take a lot of pride in recruiting high-caliber student-athletes and preparing them for the next year. It is always fun to watch their development, and see them not only move on, but thrive at the next level because of the framework set by their time at Rock Valley."
